Project Description

Museo di Padre Pio

The Padre Pio Museum has free admission and a not to be missed stage for the importance of the exhibits.

Visiting the Padre Pio Museum is almost an affective experience. It can be imagined wrapped in swaddling clothes in the cradle that welcomed his first cry, on May 25th 1887, or sitting at the master’s desk, while in the notebook he carries out the scholastic compositions. And then, the garments, the shoes, the anti-guards and the habit, dressed on 22 January 1903, abandoning the baptismal name, Francesco Forgione, and assuming forever that of Fra Pio of Pietrelcina. Since then his objects, few and rare, will be those of daily use: goblets, maintenance, purifications, vestments, stoles and gowns.

The Museum serves to tell the life, both propitious and difficult, of Padre Pio, constitutive and integrative elements of his unconditional adherence to God the Father.
